EL1 Policy Associate Director | National Disability Strategies | 12 Months Contract | Geelong, VIC

Your new company
Hays in Geelong are currently partnered with a large federal government organisation located in Geelong, Victoria.
We are seeking to appoint an EL1 Policy Coordinator (Associate Director) for an initial 12 months contract role with a potential extension.

Your new role
EL1 Policy Coordinator will be an important team leadership position, having delegated authority and responsibility to support the coordination of stakeholder engagement for the development and implementation of the new National Disability Strategies.
You will be responsible for:

  • Leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team members.
  • Coordinating policy matters that arise within formal governance groups.
  • Coordinating feedback and engagement on the development and implementation of the new policy and strategy.
  • Overseeing, maintaining and analysing policy initiatives that incorporate a broad understanding of the policy environment.
  • Sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and undertake policy analysis, stakeholder management and engagement skills in a government context.
  • Assessing the impact of changes in Government policy, initiating and contributing to appropriate responses.


What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working in Disability Service or Social Service sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to requests for information, coordinating requests and investigating matters that may be of relevance to a Royal Commission.
  • Strong experience in coordinating and managing disability strategy and policy.
  • Government organisation experience is highly desirable.

You MUST be an Australian Citizen OR a Permanent Resident to apply for this role.
