Barwon Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Service (BMHDAS) provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families. Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive.

Bellarine Continuing Care Service (CCS) provides community and in-patient services for people aged between 26 and 65 years affected by serious complex mental illness. Bellarine CCS covers a large geographical area including suburbs such as East Geelong, Newcomb, all the way up to St Leonards. The team consists of allied health, nurses and medical professionals.

About the role 

You will provide, in collaboration with the consultant psychiatrist, clinical leadership, education to the adult community mental health teams and operational support to the South CMHT’s manager of the adult community mental health teams. 

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Complex organisational risk management.

  • Provide recovery oriented assessment and treatment to people who use MHDAS, including individuals, families, and groups.

  • Provide within scope support to the manager in regards to operational tasks.

  • Show a proactive interest in Key Performance Indicator achievements.

  • Ensure personal practice is of the highest possible quality, in line with organisation best practice principles, particularly in regards to integrated mental health and substance use treatment principles, risk management, family inclusive practice principles, and recovery principles.
