Full Job Description
Gateways has 2x casual vacancies in the growing flexible living options service, Social Connect. The program provides high quality; individualised programs for people with an intellectual disability. This support encourages developmental opportunities and participant choice, enabling maximum integration with the community and a lifestyle that emulates the general community.

Social Connect Support Workers - Casual
You will be available to work shifts generally during the hours of 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday to support people with a disability. It is a requirement for all casual employees to work a minimum of 6 shifts per month. You will provide support to people with disabilities in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, accessing the local community, learning independent living skills and implementation of all support plans including Person Centred Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Health Care Plans.

You will be guided through a comprehensive 3-day induction, as well as provided with specialised training opportunities. You will be part of a supportive team and an organisation wanting you to succeed.

Employment is dependent upon evidence of your application for the NDIS Screening Check (mandatory from 1st Feb 2021).

You will be required to apply for an NDIS Worker Screening Check. This check includes a national criminal records check, and will cost you $119.40. The check is valid for 5 years.

Successful applicants will be required to supply a current Working with Children check for an employee, a current Level 2 first aid qualification and CPR update. If you have lived outside of Australia for more than 12 months in the last 10 years, you will be required to supply an international police check from the country where you lived. Employment cannot commence until this check is received and assessed.

Shortlisted applicants will also be required to undertake the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission online Worker Orientation training module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ prior to attending induction. This is a pre-employment requirement and if not completed, employment will not proceed.
